NEW YORK -- Ruben Tejada singled home the winning run with two outs in the 11th inning, Curtis Granderson hit a tying homer in the eighth and the New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 on Monday night. Zach LaVine Jersey . David Wright went deep early, Travis dArnaud had an RBI double and Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched seven shutout innings for the Mets, who have won three of four. They took the opener of a four-game series after getting swept by the NL East leaders in Atlanta last week. New York nemesis Freddie Freeman had three hits and a walk for the Braves, who won nine in a row before Sundays 3-1 loss to Arizona. Andrelton Simmons singled twice for his sixth straight multihit game. Carlos Torres (4-4) pitched two scoreless innings for the win. Mike Minor allowed only two hits in seven innings on a 91-degree night, an encouraging outing for the Atlanta left-hander after he had a 5.21 ERA in his previous eight starts. He was in line for his first win since May 19 before Granderson connected off lefty Luis Avilan with two outs in the eighth to tie it at 3. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez was ejected in the bottom of the ninth for arguing a call that was overturned on replay. After much discussion, Eric Campbell was ruled safe at second when replays showed Simmons came off the bag too soon as he took a throw and relayed to first. Shae Simmons pitched out of the jam for Atlanta. Juan Lagares doubled off Anthony Varvaro (3-2) with one out in the 11th, and Lucas Duda was intentionally walked before Lagares went to third on dArnauds long fly to centre. Tejada lined the next pitch up the middle and tossed his helmet aside after rounding first. His jubilant teammates chased him down to celebrate in shallow centre field. Matsuzaka was lifted after 100 pitches, a move that backfired on manager Terry Collins when Atlanta rallied for three runs with two outs in the eighth. Freeman doubled off Vic Black with one out and scored from third when reliever Josh Edgins first pitch sailed just over Jason Heywards head. The ball kicked hard off the backstop and caromed up the third base line, allowing Freeman to come home easily on the wild pitch. Heyward then singled to centre, ending an impressive streak for Edgin. He had retired his first hitter in all 23 outings -- a club record to start a season. Collins went to closer Jenrry Mejia, and Chris Johnson doubled off the top of the centre-field fence to tie it 2-all. After an intentional walk to Tommy La Stella, fellow rookie Christian Bethancourt punched a go-ahead single to right. New Yorks improving bullpen had a 1.97 ERA in the previous 21 games. NOTES: It appears Braves RHP Julio Teheran wont get to pitch in his first trip to the All-Star game. Teheran is scheduled to start Tuesday night at Citi Field and then Sunday at the Chicago Cubs, two days before the July 15 showcase in Minnesota. He will likely be replaced on the active NL roster by a fresh arm. ... Teheran is 2-0 with a 1.23 ERA in four career starts against the Mets. ... Freeman batted .407 with 18 RBIs in his previous 15 games against Mets. ... Atlanta C Evan Gattis (bulging thoracic disk) probably wont be ready to come off the 15-day DL right after the All-Star break, Gonzalez said. ... Mets RHP Dillon Gee (strained right lat) will be limited to 90-95 pitches when he comes off the disabled list Wednesday night, Collins said. Gee will start in place of LHP Jonathon Niese, put on the 15-day DL last weekend with a left shoulder strain. ... Collins and GM Sandy Alderson called 2B Daniel Murphy into the office Sunday to tell him he made the All-Star team. "He thought he got traded," Collins said, drawing chuckles. ... New York wore camouflage caps and jerseys as part of its Military Mondays theme. Rashad McCants Jersey . Didnt need any help this time. Wood beat Cincinnati for the first time in his career, repeatedly pitching out of threats for seven innings, and Chicago stalled the Reds week-long surge with a 2-0 victory Monday night. Doug West Jersey .Y. -- Dallas Stars coach Lindy Ruff had an opportunity to experience an entire range of emotions in his first trip back to Buffalo to face his former team. https://www.cheaptimberwolves.com/130j-kevin-love-jersey-timberwolves.html . The 36-year-old said a few months ago he would hang up his boots at the end of the season, but has since changed his mind. "Its a pity the season is ending now, as I am in good physical shape and enjoying myself," Di Natale said.MIAMI -- LeBron James drove to the rim as time was winding down, got clobbered by Josh McRoberts and sat on the hardwood gathering himself for a few seconds afterward. It was fitting. Miami took Charlottes best shot, and survived. James scored 32 points and added eight assists, Chris Bosh scored 20 points and the Heat wasted two big leads before hanging on to beat the Bobcats 101-97 on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference first-round series. Dwyane Wade scored 15 points, and had a steal in the final seconds to seal the win for Miami. He stripped the ball from Chris Douglas-Roberts with the Heat protecting a three-point lead with about 3 seconds left, and the Bobcats never got another shot off. "A very instinctual, high-risk play," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "The balls there and you know you have an opportunity to get it when most people cant get that, and that saved the game." Game 3 is Saturday in Charlotte. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 22 points for Charlotte, which got 18 points and 13 rebounds from Al Jefferson, who played through a left plantar fascia strain and shot 9 for 23 from the floor. "Hes not anywhere close to 100 per cent," Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said. "But we can play through him. ... Youve got to respect the fact hes out there battling. He has no mobility, basically. Limited mobility and yet he had 18 and 13, and he fought hard." So was McRoberts -- maybe too hard for Miamis liking. Miamis lead was 97-94 with 50 seconds left when James drove and was met at the rim by McRoberts, whose right elbow struck the four-time NBA MVP around his chin. James immediately began grabbing at his throat and needed much longer than he usually does to get up after a hard foul, which was not called flagrant. Said McRoberts, who insisted it wasnt intentional: "It looked a lot worse than what it was." James hit the second of his two free throws, making it a two-possession game -- and that was critical. Kemba Walker made a 3-pointer with 11.9 seconds left too get Charlotte within one, but the Bobcats didnt score again. Stephon Marbury Jersey. "I think were still really confident," Walker said. "We just have to learn from our mistakes. ... Were going to dissect these guys as well as we can and get ready for the next one. I think we have a chance, man." Walker finished with 16 and Gerald Henderson scored 15 for the Bobcats. Mario Chalmers scored 11 for Miami. So while the Heat were saying that all they have done was hold serve at home, its hard to find a real silver lining for Charlotte. Not only have the Bobcats now lost 18 consecutive games against Miami, but the Heat have never dropped any of the previous 11 post-season series in which theyve grabbed a 2-0 series lead. James, between his time in Cleveland and Miami, is 11-0 in such situations. Wade has been part of nine previous 2-0 leads with the Heat, and six of those series ended in no more than five games. Miamis lead was 91-77 midway through the fourth, and after blowing a big first-half lead, it appeared as though the Heat finally had some breathing room. A few minutes later, it looked a whole lot different. Walker, Kidd-Gilchrist and Douglas-Roberts combined on a 10-0 run, getting the Bobcats within 91-87. But Bosh scored on consecutive possessions, pushing the Heat lead to eight with 3:36 remaining. "We got out of our here with the win, but were going to have to tighten up a little bit," Bosh said. "We had a little bit of slippage today." Miami led 57-47 at the half, and the Bobcats -- who missed 17 of their first 22 shots -- were fortunate, after facing a 16-point deficit at one point in the early going. And while Charlotte kept coming back, it never led in the final 41 minutes. NOTES: Jefferson has not shot a free throw in the series. ... James has signed with William Morris, which will represent him in entertainment-related projects. ... Game 3 will be Charlottes first playoff home game since April 26, 2010, against Orlando. No current Bobcats appeared in that game -- but Heat F Rashard Lewis did, for Orlando. ' ' '
